Southern Tanzania Circuit

Are safaris in South Tanzania truly among the greatest in Africa? Yes, we agree! The less-traveled south of Tanzania, from Ruaha to Selous and beyond, provides unique and really wild African safari experiences. We explain why we consider southern Tanzania safaris to be among the greatest in Africa in the following sections.

Here’s a short rundown of Tanzania’s safari areas before we get started (known as circuits). This will give you a general idea of where in Tanzania you can go on safari.

Tanzania’s safari destinations are divided into two circuits: northern and southern. Both the northern and southern parks are fantastic places to visit if you want to get a sense of the African environment and its diverse fauna.
Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit includes the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, two of East Africa’s most famous safari locations. The Great Migration, which takes place yearly between Serengeti Park and Masai Mara, just across the border in southern Kenya, is a highlight of the Northern Safari Circuit. The Northern Safari Circuit contains Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara, in addition to Serengeti Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
