6 Days | 5 Nights Camping Tanzania Safari
Overview
Explore the great wildebeest migration with this 6 day Safari to the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is one of the world’s most famous destinations, so it’s no surprise that it’s one of Tanzania’s most popular attractions. The park is home to the dramatic Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles must traverse the Mara River. It has been the focus of several nature films.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Pick up from Moshi/Arusha in the morning and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its expansive 220km² lake whose shores sometimes may not be seen for the pink carpet of flamingos. You will have a picnic lunchbox on the way and then enjoy an afternoon game drive, where you may get the chance to see Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions- not seen in any other national park! You will have dinner and overnight at a campsite at Lake Manyara.
Early rise with breakfast and a short morning game drive before you head to the sweeping plains of Serengeti National Park for an afternoon game drive (lunchbox provided). This afternoon you will experience a game drive in the central Seronera region – a great place to spot prides of lions and other big cats. Following your game drive you will go to set up camp within the National Park. Your safari chef will cook you a scrumptious dinner before you turn yourselves in for a night amongst the wilderness.
Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park to explore this vast savannah. Enjoy a picnic lunchbox during your game drive and return to camp for dinner and another night amongst the wilderness.
Rise early to catch the wildlife whilst they are still active before the day gets too hot and they return to rest (dawn game drive). Explore the hippo pools and find crocodiles basking as the sun comes up. Return to camp for brunch, pack up and then drive to Ngorongoro whilst viewing more wildlife on the way. You will set up camp at Simba camp- on the edge of the crater rim. Be prepared to find zebra and possibly even elephant wandering through camp as your chef cooks up a storm for dinner. No doubt after a busy day you will turn yourselves in early!
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at the campsite and then descend into the infamous Ngorongoro crater to view some of Tanzania's more rarely seen wildlife including the black rhino. You will have a morning game drive on the open grassy plains of the crater, stopping for a picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok hippo pools before commencing your drive to Tarangire National Park where you enjoy a game drive on your way to set up camp within the park.
Your final morning on safari to be enjoyed in this park famous for large groups of elephants and huge baobab trees dotting the landscape. Enjoy lunch at the scenic picnic spot overlooking the Tarangire river before departing for Arusha/Moshi (arrive 5-6pm).

General Safari Information
Our safari guides are all well experienced in the field and passionate about showing you the amazing wildlife and culture Tanzania has to offer. All are fluent in English, and if you have a special language request just let us know as many will also have an additional language (e.g. French, Spanish, German). They are also well trained in 4×4 driving so will be able to get you anywhere on the varying road qualities we have here! Please feel free to ask your guide any questions you may have about the wildlife, culture or trip along the way.
All meals will be provided by the lodges you are staying at- if you are leaving on a game drive during the day then a lunch box will be provided. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at most lodges. We will provide mineral water in the car each day.
4×4 Safari Landcruiser with 7 seats. Our safari vehicles have been specifically modified for wildlife viewing, with a pop top roof which will be open during all game drives and sliding windows. We carry at least one pair of binoculars in each vehicle. Please note our regular vehicles do not have air conditioning or refrigerator. If you would like us to arrange one of our upgraded vehicles with these facilities please just ask us to provide a quote.
Although we do everything within our powers to ensure your maximum comfort, the roads in Tanzania can vary greatly in quality from newly tarmacced to completely rough and muddy or dusty (depending on rainy or dry season!). Driving times can be long, even to cover what may seem like relatively short distances. Although we regularly maintain our vehicles (with a check-up in the garage after every safari) they can and do sometimes pop a tyre or breakdown. Our guides are well trained with lots of experience in car mechanics and 98% of the time can fix the issue themselves- and you’ll be off spotting zebras again in less than 20 minutes! Please be patient if your car encounters a mechanical issue.
A great area of confusion and unease for many tourists, tipping is a generally expected and highly appreciated (although not compulsory) part of your safari tour. It is a great way of saying ‘thank you’ to those that have helped you to have a wonderful experience here. Tips should be given at the end of your safari when saying your goodbyes. If you are part of a group safari it is best to try to discuss with everyone beforehand how you wish to do the tipping. To help you feel at ease we have provided a general guide below but please remember that tipping is a way of you showing your gratitude for your safari staff and is up to you! The guidelines given below are for a group amount, not individually.
Guide: 20-25 USD/ day
