Full Itinerary

Pick up from your Moshi/Arusha accommodation at 7am/8am and travel to Tarangire National Park (with a lunchbox along the way). In the afternoon, you will go on a wildlife drive where you will have the opportunity to witness the vast herds of elephants that make this national park renowned. Tarangire is home to several of the famed Baobab trees, as well as Amarula trees (whose fruit is one of the elephants' favorite sweet snacks!). Return to your lodge for supper and overnight, either within the national park or in the adjacent town of Mto Wa Mbu.

After breakfast, go for the Serengeti National Park's wide plains for an afternoon wildlife drive (lunchbox supplied). The Serengeti (literally 'endless plains') may give you with the spectacle of the Great Migration--thousands of Zebra and Wildebeest migrating in search of the richest grasses and water. The migration is best seen between February and June. Following your wildlife drive, you will proceed to your lodge within the National Park, where you will have dinner before retiring for the night in the wilderness.

Rise early to capture wildlife when it is still active, before the day becomes too hot and they go to rest. Explore the hippo pools and look for crocodiles lounging in the sun as the sun rises. Return to your lodge for brunch before packing your belongings and driving to Ngorongoro while watching more animals along the way. Prepare to see zebra and even elephant roaming across camp as your chef prepares dinner. You will undoubtedly go to bed early after a long day!

After a great breakfast at your hotel, descend into the notorious Ngorongoro crater to observe some of Tanzania's more seldom seen animals, including the black rhino. Enjoy a wildlife drive on the crater's broad grassy plains till 3pm, pausing for a picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok hippo pools. Return to the Mto Wa Mbu tented campground for supper and sleep.

Your final day of early mornings! Following breakfast, visit Lake Manyara National Park, noted for its huge 220km2 lake, the beaches of which are occasionally obscured by a pink carpet of flamingos. During the morning wildlife drive, you may observe Lake Manyara's legendary tree-climbing lions, which are rarely seen in any other national park! You will return to Arusha/Moshi after lunch (5pm/6pm).
