This spectacular 5-day Tanzania safari will take you to the Ngorongoro Crater, which has one of Africa’s largest concentrations of wildlife. Inside a self-contained environment packed with creatures, you will experience a spectacular sight of African wildlife. The tour will continue to the Serengeti National Park, a gigantic wilderness of 14500 square kilometers in the heart of untamed Africa, where every day provides a new panorama and a new adventure. At the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment, you’ll explore Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most stunning wildlife habitats, consisting of a small but massive soda lake.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Moshi – Lake Manyara National Park + -

Pick up from your hotel in Moshi at 8:30 am and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its expansive 220km² lake whose shores sometimes may not be seen for the pink carpet of flamingos.  You will have a picnic lunchbox on the way and then enjoy an afternoon game drive, where you may get the chance to see Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions- not seen in any other national park! You will have dinner and overnight at a campsite in Mto Wa Mbu.

Day 2: Mto Wa Mbu – Serengeti National Park + -

Early rise with breakfast and then head to the sweeping plains of Serengeti National Park for an afternoon game drive (lunchbox provided).  The Serengeti (literal translation means ‘endless plains’) may provide you with the spectacle of the Great Migration- thousands of Zebra and Wildebeest moving in search of the best grasses and water.  The best time to view the migration is between February-June.  Following your game drive you will go to set up camp within the National Park.  Your safari chef will cook you a scrumptious dinner before you turn yourselves in for a night amongst the wilderness.

Day 3: Full day in Serengeti National Park + -

Breakfast at the campsite before piling into the car for a full day game drive in Serengeti National Park- giving you the best chances of witnessing the Great Migration.  You will have a picnic lunchbox provided and, following the day of wildlife watching, return to camp for a delicious meal cooked up by your chef

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area + -

Rise early to catch the wildlife whilst they are still active before the day gets too hot and they return to rest.  Explore the hippo pools and find crocodiles basking as the sun comes up.  Return to camp for brunch, pack up and then drive to Ngorongoro whilst viewing more wildlife on the way.  You will set up camp at Simba camp- on the edge of the crater rim.  Be prepared to find zebra and possibly even elephant wandering through camp as your chef cooks up a storm for dinner.  No doubt after a busy day you will turn yourselves in early!

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater + -

Wake up to a delicious breakfast at the campsite and then descend into the infamous Ngorongoro crater to view some of Tanzania’s more rarely seen wildlife including the black rhino.  You will have a morning game drive on the open grassy plains of the crater, stopping for a picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok hippo pools before returning to Moshi (arrive 5:30 – 6pm).
