4 Days - Safari in Tanzania

This 4-day lodge safari in Tanzania is the perfect short trip to Tanzania’s most popular national parks, including Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti National Park. This safari has something for everyone and is great for those with little time on their hands due to the different landscapes and a crater full of wildlife.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Moshi- Tarangire NP + -

Pick up from your accommodation in Moshi at 8.30am and drive to Tarangire National Park (with a lunchbox on the way).  You will reach there late morning and have a game drive with the opportunity to see large groups of elephants that make this national park famous.  Tarangire is home to many of the iconic Baobab trees as well as Amarula trees (whose fruit is one of the favourite sweet treats for the elephants!).  Following your game drive you will go to set up camp within the National Park.

Day 2: Tarangire NP – Serengeti NP + -

Early rise for a morning game drive inside the park before returning to camp for breakfast and then head to the sweeping plains of Serengeti National Park for an afternoon game drive (lunchbox provided).  You will pass through Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with the opportunity to view wildlife along the way.  The Serengeti’s literal translation means ‘endless plains’, teeming with wildlife (and great for spotting big cats!).  Following your game drive you will go to set up camp within the National Park.  Your safari chef will cook you a scrumptious dinner before you turn yourselves in for a night amongst the wilderness.

Day 3:  Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area + -

Rise early to catch the wildlife whilst they are still active before the day gets too hot and they return to rest. Return to camp for brunch, pack up and then drive to Ngorongoro whilst viewing more wildlife on the way.  You will set up camp at Simba camp- on the edge of the crater rim.  Be prepared to find zebra and possibly even elephant wandering through camp as your chef cooks up a storm for dinner.  No doubt after a busy day you will turn yourselves in early!

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater-Moshi + -

Wake up to a delicious breakfast at the campsite and then descend into the infamous Ngorongoro crater to view some of Tanzania’s more rarely seen wildlife including the black rhino.  You will have a morning game drive on the open grassy plains of the crater, stopping for a picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok hippo pools before returning to Arusha/Moshi (arrive 5pm/6pm).
